Overview
There were talks from Citi employees across different divisions, and then markets specific talks. I had the opportunity to shadow the metals desk (so far), which was really interesting to gain an insight of. There was an AmplifyMe trading simulation which was a really good opportunity, especially as I'd never done anything like it before. Joseph, who ran this course, did such a great job at running it's and helping me when I was quite confused.
Skills
I've learned much more about the operations of a bank, what working in markets looks like, what working at Citi looks like. I've learned more key financial terms, I've improved my networking.
Business Insight
It was really good. The talks from different divisions, and then especially the introduction to products with employees from all different products was really useful. I came in with not much knowledge, and feel much more confident now
Culture
I really liked it. It was a very welcoming environment, and was shocked by how willing to help everyone was. My buddy, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], went out of her way to talk to me for a few hours, and then to take me to her desk. Those I shadowed on the metals team took time to answer all my questions and be available during the whole 3 hours. The attitude was the same from the early careers team. It was all very welcoming.
Your Impressions
I loved it. It was so great. It taught me so much about the firm, but also about markets and also the other divisions. I feel much more confident in what I want to do in the future and the opportunities eg. shadowing was very unique.
Yes
Be honest during the application process, show who you are, because that's what people want to see.
