The Role
At first it was really hard to get a hang of all the business processes and the fast pace of work but once I knew what I was doing it became a lot easier to understand and even teach others.
My colleagues were always supportive, helping me whenever I asked as well as being able to offer both advice and praise when neccessary.
I had bi weekly meetings with my manager so she was always up to date on what I was working on, she set me new tasks and told gave me constructive criticism and praise where neccessary.
Most of the time I was very busy, at first not as much because I didnt really know what I was doing but once I did I was able to take on as much as was manageable for me.
I was given alot of responsibility on my placement, I felt like I took real ownership of tasks and saw them through from beginning to end. I was allowed to conduct presentations, teaching others, and reporting back to management on various tasks.
Originally the role I did was not was I would have seen myself doing, but having done it, this is definitely a business sector I will pursue to work in in the future, I have developed my literacy and communication skills, as well as I.T skills, I feel this placement has allowed me to mature and gain a clearer insight on what I want to do in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was fun, but we all remained focus at the same time, there was a time and place for everything and we all remembered that.
Most of the placement was set up really well, the only flaws were I.T issues and security issues at the start of the placement but apart from that it all worked really well, from gaining a mentor to being assigned a team leader and having offiste socials.
Personal training an development was probably more of a weakpoint, there werent too many courses that I went on, but one I did manage to do was a presentation skills course, which has really allowed me to improve on that area.

Working from home
Having not finished my placement it is difficult to know whether I have secured a place with them, I have however had my contract extended and have had an informal discussion with my manager about the likelihood of returning to the company which I would love.
The Culture
I did not really socialise with all the other interns as it was more of an engineering scene and as I am business student this sometimes created social boundaries however when we were together we did have fun, I enjoyed socialising with the graduates and other young people in the company and have made really good friends.
The living costs, I found to be reasonably priced if you do your research but can be expensive at times, I paid only less or equal to than what I would pay at university so it was not too bad, in terms of socialising it was pretty cheap to go out and still guaranteed to have fun.
Being in a relatively small city, there was only a handful of places to go to, however with most of the population of young people in that city being in those areas, this made it a pretty enjoyable scene. I had fun on all the nights out and have grown to like it.
There were a lot of volunteering activities to get involved in as well as subsidised trips to air shows around the country due to the company being sponsors.
