The Role
Enjoyed it very much, a range of tasks to complete.
Everyone was very welcoming and always kept me on my toes.
Very helpful, whenever I needed help he was always there to help and tried to give me challenging tasks which would stretch the mind.
Very busy, always had something to do which was very good, also a range of tasks to ensure I don't get bored.
I was given a lot of responsibility. If I done something wrong then it would affect the company in the future.
I learnt a lot about networking. These types of skills will always come in useful whenever entering another type of I.T. career.
The Company
Everybody was working (mainly because it was an office). However the people there were always joyful on the inside and loved making jokes which made the environment a much better atmosphere.
Had lots to do as soon as I walked through the door. Only reason of the 9 instead of 10 is that I had to keep asking for the work rather than having a good idea of the next task to prepare for. However besides form this-stilll very well thought out placement.
The firm invested a lot of time in helping me to learn more about what I was interested in and this information would also help me in the future. The firm also helped me to develop the skills I already had.
Subsidised Canteen
I like the idea of working for Metaswitch Networks as the staff are very kind and seem happy doing their job no matter what it be. Even the labour workers enjoy what they do which all helps to a better atmosphere in the workplace.
The Culture
Everyone was very kind to each other and you felt as if you were in a happy environment where there was no tension between any staff and you didn't feel uncomfortable at all.
Very very easy. You could easily walk to an employee and ask for help or just talk and they would be happy to converse with you.
Due to the placement being in an office I found that there wasn't much of a nightlife however in the area there was a range of clubs and pubs to get involved in.
There were lots of educational career paths one could take to further themselves in their career. There is also Middlesex University not too far away where someone could learn more about what they are doing.
