Intern on 2025 Spring Insights Programme Review

On the insight, our days normally consisted of having multiple talks and networking, between 09:00-17:00. We would arrive at 08:30 and get breakfast provided, and then 09:00-13:00 have a mixture of both talks and interactive sessions. At 13:00 we would pause for lunch, where we sometimes got a chance to network with workers in the bank. Then from 14:00-17:00 we would have more talks and interactive sessions. After 17:00, we got to network with more workers of the bank if we wished.

Certainly. Firstly, the amount of opportunities we got to network really developed my networking skills. For instance, how to approach someone and maintain conversation in a professional manner. The mock interview we had on the final day was also very helpful. The preparation and execution helped give me exposure to the interview process, and the feedback we got after it finished was invaluable. It developed my interview skills and helped outline what I need to improve.

It was extremely insightful to be taught all about J.P. Morgan and the potential roles available. The talks and networking sessions gave me a lot of exposure to different roles and what they entailed. It was exciting to get to learn the vast array of roles their are and how positive everyone was about their job. This is truly a testament to the culture of the bank, and it was brilliant to get to understand all about the business.

The company culture and general atmosphere was incredible. The culture was welcoming and diverse, with everyone being so helpful. To have this mixed with the intelligent, driven aspect of the culture as well really showed how unique J.P. Morgan’s culture is. The general atmosphere was very positive, with everyone seeming enthusiastic about both the bank and their roles. It seemed like everyone was there not just to help themselves, but to progress the bank and help others as a team.

I very much enjoyed my insight. It was everything and more than I expected. All my peers on the programme were so nice and friendly and it was amazing to be surrounded by like-minded individuals, who also share my interest in the banking world. The workers and representatives of the bank were also so welcoming. The insight leaders organised many networking sessions, which were very fun and informative, and the talks were engaging and interesting.

Make sure to do your research thoroughly and particularly focus on the culture of the bank, their core values, but also the financial world and recent news more generally. Show an enthusiasm to learn and show you understand that you won’t know everything straight away, but you have an intellectual curiosity to learn. Be authentic and find a reason why J.P. Morgan is so special and why you want to apply specifically to them.
