The Role
Very structured week with numerous social events organised with trainees, associates and partners. The people are extremely nice as well.
In my second seat, I felt that more could have been done to give me more work and more involvement within the department. Felt a bit of a burden sometimes!
HR were always there to look after you and take any questions you had. The trainees were always helpful and welcomed questions.
In my first seat I was always kept busy doing useful work. However, in the second department there were some days where I was actively looking for work and not being given any!
We were given a Business project to do during the two weeks within groups of 6. For this we had to organise meetings outside of work hours and then had to present our business ideas at the end of two weeks. This really gave you a sense of responsibility for looking after things yourselves.
We had numerous talks from all sides of the law firm - IT, Marketing, HR and the lawyers. This really gave me an insight into the mechanics of a commercial law firm which I did not even consider before. I believe the business project really helped build my business instinct and improved my presentation skills.
The Company
The open-planned nature of the office really made you feel as though everyone was equal, even if it made it slightly hard/awkward in terms of knowing who was a partner and who was not! However, there was a real welcoming atmosphere that other firms definitely lack.
At the start of the week we were given numerous talks informing us of the events over the two weeks. We were also given a run-down of each day, and where we would be going, in a 'Welcome pack' which was extremely clear and useful.
The numerous talks and social events that RPC put together showed a lot of investment in us.

Company Parties/Events
They have a number of vacation scheme places, and in terms of Trainees that the firm take on after the 2 years of training, the firm boasts 100% last year!
The Culture
Everyone got on really well and we went for a drink after work each of the Fridays.
Commuted from my home in Surrey!
Middle of London so can't complain...obviously a little pricey in terms of going out for a drink after work though!
