The Role
It was a thoroughly enjoyable scheme, with a huge variety of interesting work and social events.
Trainees through to partners appreciated our position and dealt with us accordingly.
If I had any questions I was never afraid to ask, and everyone repeatedly said that I should come to them if I had any problems.
I was totally in control of my own workload and my supervisor was there to ensure that I was never too busy or did not have enough work. I could turn down work if I was too busy or request more if I was free.
Naturally, everything was checked by trainees, but I could manage my own work schedule and in many cases worked on contained matters which were then sent off to clients.
I have learnt invaluable skills in attention to detail, time management, professionalism, teamwork and much more. I have matured a lot in three weeks!
The Company
Obviously we were there to work and law is not the most exciting of topics. However, everyone was really friendly, as well as being generally up for a chat and a laugh.
Everything was EXTREMELY well organised thanks to a brilliant team in Graduate Recruitment. There were no big blunders and rarely did things run over / start late.
We had skills presentations, in particular a client pitch briefing which really improved presentation skills.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Most people will be accepting training contracts with them - they like to offer jobs to people who were on the scheme.
The Culture
Yes - everyone was up for much socialising.
It was London so was never going to be great - however all "official" socialising was paid for by the Firm.
Not great in the City but fantastic in the rest of London!
Not really - no-one was invited to football tournaments etc which I have heard happening at other firms.
