The Role
I enjoyed it so much that I extended my contract by 3 months.
They trusted and respected me, when I was asked to get a task on a project done I knew they relied on me to get it to them on time.
They were there for me when I needed guidance, all I had to do was to ask for a meeting. And even when I didn't ask they would ensure I was on track to what I wished to achieve.
My daily workload varied, at the start it was low but as I picked up responsibilities it increased. If my work load was too low I would ask to do events or educational courses or just to take up more responsibilities.
I supported European managers by creating reports for them and writing meting minutes. I also was responsible for maintaining a database that allowed Business Partners to get in contact with us.
The educational courses I did made me realise that I did not want to progress into technical computing and that I prefer the business management side. This in turn made me change my university course.
The Company
At the start it was very quiet which was ok as it was relaxed but after a couple of months more placement students joined and the I enjoyed the office more as it was sociable
They found it difficult to know what responsibilities to give me. But the community side of the placement worked out quite well.
Not only was I able to do lots of online courses but I was also invited to many conferences from computer skills to how to get through an assessment centre to how to become an executive.

Working from home
I would come back into the same role if they wanted me. And I would also be willing to try a new area of IBM
The Culture
Not particularly at the start as I was the only placement student and I lived at home. After 6 months more students arrived and it was nicer to be able to go to lunch together.
I didn't live there
I didn't go out at night
Once every 3 months the placement students on my scheme would meet up. But I did not partake in any sports clubs of other such like activities.
