The Role
I love the atmosphere and people I work with.
My team were always very supportive and I feel I have made life long friends.
My manager was extremely supportive and very easy to approach when I had an issue or was struggling.
There are times when the work load is quiet but there is always something to do.
You are not treated like an intern, you are given lots of responsibility and left to your own devices but obviously with a great deal of support from your team.
It has been invaluable my experience here, I have learnt things that I would not have learnt anywhere else and it will definitely help me in my final year of university and for any jobs in the future.
The Company
The office had days when it was quiet but other days when it was very busy. There isn't a great deal of 'fun' organised but you make your own fun, especially with the other interns as we have a 'games' room with a table tennis table and a wii
Very good, they have lots of interns here at GE Healthcare and it is well organised.
I didn't receive a great deal of development training, its a bit of a 'do it yourself' company where you develop while on the job.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare from home
I will definitely look to apply for a graduate scheme with them in the future.
The Culture
Yes! I have made good friends through my placement and we are always organising social events and activities to do together.
Luckily I commute to work as it is only a 40 minute drive as Hatfield is not the nicest of areas and there isn't much to do regarding socialising. The area is overpriced for what it is and offers, but it is this way due to the students and university. But we make our own fun as there is a train station that goes straight into Kings Cross a 2 minute walk from the office and there a few restaurants situated not that far from work.
There's the student union in the Forum... and thats about it
A few things, I took part in a few sports classes that were held at the office but not a great deal was organised.
