The Role
Working in the Product department, i feel that i got everything out of my placement that i needed.
Great Managers - they value their staff very well and recognise achievement, rewarding accordingly
Manager was very approachable, if I had any questions, I could always ask them
Most days were quite hectic, especially during peak points of the Product cycle
I was given a lot more responsibility than anticipated, however I welcomed this and enjoyed the tasks that it entailed
I have definitely developed all of my skills further, whilst at TUI - these included time management, increased confidence, communication and presentation skills
The Company
Great, open plan atmosphere
Fantastic - right from the induction period through to the Placement leaving party
I was offered this, however it was always difficult to fit this in
Subsidised Canteen
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Am hoping to return, although this is not confirmed
The Culture
None with fellow placement students, a small amount with some people in my Department (which was enough to be honest!)
Luton is pretty cheap, although I'd advise to avoid it at all costs - heading to Harpenden or St Albans is more expensive but such a better atmosphere!
Luton - awful, Harpenden/St Albans - not bad for drinks but no chance of clubbing. You'll need to head to Watford/MK/London for that!
Overall, there's quite a few things going on - charity work, football clubs etc.
