The Role
The role was not as I expected, but on the same note, I did not dis-like the role I was in. Although I was on placement, the company were very flexible and friendly.
I will greatly miss all of my colleagues I had the pleasure to work with this year. 'Like Family' is a very good description of what I felt within my team
If guidance and management is needed, you have an array of managers to provide this for you. However, if you do not require this, you are left to be very independant within your role.
This varies on a daily basis ... however, as you may end up doing more hours when you are busy, the work is flexible as you would be able to leave early (for instance) in order to compensate
Completely in charge of once section of my department. Was the point of contact for the whole account, including over seas personnel.
Soft skills are a big focal point whilst you are here at IBM. Managers will do their best to send you opportunities and get you involved with workshops that can improve these.
The Company
Due to having a good relationship with my team there was always a very relaxed atmosphere to work in.

Working from home
By taking your placement with IBM, this allows you to apply internally for a graduate role. We are able to submit our application months before external candidates, and if successful, may also skip one of the assessment centres.
The Culture
Lived alone so rent was high and disposable income low
