The Role
I really enjoyed it when I was buys with tasks and felt like part of the team. However, it was very tedious when not given enough to do.
Colleagues were very helpful and friendly
My line manager was very busy so I found myself finding different mentors amongst the other team members. They were happy to support me with tasks and questions that I had.
I was not given enough to do on my placement, and felt that I was a wasted resource. I did push to do a variety of tasks, and found that colleagues were helpful when I approached them.
I was given a certain amount of responsibility, as my project permitted me to add value to the team and make real changes.
I have learnt a lot about working in a busy team in a large organisation. The training I have received will really help me if I were to have a career with HSBC in the future.
The Company
There was a friendly atmosphere within the office
It took a while to sort out the systems for me to be able to get started on any work - this was frustrating as the placement was only 7 weeks long, and so a proportion of this time could not be used effectively. However, team members were very helpful throughout this period.
I hope to work with this organisation in the future. Despite some setbacks in terms of organisation, everyone is willing to help and that is most important.
