The Role
A very positive experience overall
At no point was i made to feel like anybody's minion. Everyone was very friendly and took the time to get to know me
Support and guidance was overall very good. My supervisor was very approachable and always happy to have a chat.
There were always tasks to do, so i was never bored.
Although i wasn't given particularly high profile tasks, all of the work that i did was important in the commercial transactions the firm was undertaking.
I feel that having the opporuntity to see how a commercial law firm works day to day will be very useful in deciding my future career.
The Company
Although everyone in my office works extremely hard there was always a pleasant atmosphere and people would be happy to chat for a few minutes about whatever was on their mind.
Overall the placement was well organised. There were one or two technical/IT problems but these were beyond the company's control.
The placement was only short so there was not much time for training. However the company did do their best to teach us about the firm.
Very appealing - i hope to be awarded a training contract.
The Culture
There were lots of social events at which everyone made you feel very welcome.
Edinburgh is an expensive city.
Lots of bars/clubs around
Not apart form the social events.
