The Role
The placement is really well organised with great support; every intern has a trainee buddy and a supervisor that can assist with any questions.
I was given real work to do for the whole placement including contract drafting and research tasks with deadlines. This was really appreciated.
My supervisor was very patient and happy to explain any concepts and answer any questions that I had about the work given.
My department was going through a quieter period but I was still given plenty of work and we had many social events in the evening too.
I was given excellent responsibility right from the start of the placement; my first task was to re-draft parts of a contract which was very daunting but I was given great support to complete the task. I was also invited to site visits and client meetings which was a great opportunity.
I attended several trainee departmental training sessions which were very useful to get an in depth understanding of the work undertaken in that department. I was able to implement this when completing work for the department.
The Company
The firm is very friendly and my department were very welcoming. It's graduate recruitment campaign lived up to its promises!
I could not fault the scheme; it was very well organised and the enthusiasm exhibited by HR, the trainees, associates and partners was very encouraging.
I was able to attend departmental training which was very useful.
Company Parties/Events
The Culture
Events were held most evenings and if there wasn't an event organised then the trainees and interns would organise something.
Holborn is a reasonably cheap area for food and drink.
The firm has sporting events, networking events and pro bono opportunities.
