The Role
Really varied role, great to experience a Head Office role aswell as working in a branch. Met with a broad number of teams across the business. My team were very welcoming and role progressed well throughout the year, both in sense of meeting challenging deadlines and experiencing pressured situations.
Felt I had a key role in the team.
My managers were both past placement students, they encouraged me to make the most of the year. This allowed me to experience jobs/roles that I wouldn't have necessarily of planned for.
The Company
Good all round atmosphere, both relaxed and focused at points.
Organisation could have been better, but the placement development days were really well organised and helped a great deal with understanding the business in alot more detail and informing us of future prospects.
I had a monthly review every 3 months, a PDP fortnightly and a catch up every week. This helped to outline my objectives for personal progression and development.

Definitely applying for the Graduate Scheme, although disappointed that there isnt a graduate scheme for a specific Waitrose Head Office role.
The Culture
Social scene varied, there were a good number of nights out organised by the students, but this could be improved for all industrial placement students to get involved in.
Pretty low area to live in, although I stayed at home with parents for this year. Petrol was expensive, and would recommend finding a shared house with other students.
Good nights out, varied clubs, bars and restaurants.
Lot's of opportunities to experience different perks of the JLP Partnership, some examples include: Wine tasting, paintballing, sailing, scuba diving and MTB/Cycling. JLP have great clubs and societies, and there is definitely something for everything.
