    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Amazing balance of hard work, fun and genuine responsibility

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Was not treated as an intern, but instead as a full time, established employee. My opinions were valued and actioned upon and I was included in corporate hospitality throughout the year.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Was given support and guidance where necessary/appropriate. If I did something wrong I was given constructive criticism so that I would improve. As I developed throughout the year I was given less guidance and used my own initiative to make decisions - the perfect balance!

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In general throughout the year I had a grat balance of work. Of course there were times when I was more busy than others, but at no stage was there nothing for me to do.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I ran a year long campaign called the Run Prouder Awards www.saprunprouder.com/success and was given an increasing amount of responsibility as my year progressed. I was entrusted with many things and this made me feel valued and a real asset to the team.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learned on placement are invaluable. From time management to stakeholder management etc I have developed a wide range of skills that will help me in my future career. "Real work" has added context to my university studies.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A work hard, play hard culture. Everyone in the team was friendly and approachable. People have their own jobs and responsibilities but always made the time for me and the other interns.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a plan for my placement, including: planned campaigns/involvement, objectives/reviews etc.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • SAP invested lots of time in my development - there is a large range of training/development programmes. If I saw one that I thought would be benficial to me, I asked my managers permision and if appropriate was enrolled on the course.

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • No gormal graduate programme, but if you impress there are definite opportunities for a role after university!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Interns were introduced and a group was formed to houseshare. Interns regularly went out on a Thursday and played football on Mondays and wednesdays.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • There is affordable housing, but Greater London prices aren't the cheapest. I rented a room for £375 a month with other interns, in Egham which suited perfectly.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 30mins train into central London. 10minutes to Richmond and Windsor. Not too far away from good bars and clubs.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I played in the SAP football world cup - SAP pay for the different market units from around the world to travel to their HQ in Germany to play in the annual SAP world cup. 3 days of football and fun! All flights, accomodation covered by SAP...AMAZING
