The Role
A great work environment! Although working under time pressure the office atmosphere has an appearance of calm.
Introduced to everyone in the department on day. Paired with a trainee buddy who took me to lunch. Regularly thanked for all my work and given good feedback on the tasks I completed, all in all making me feel valued at the firm during the scheme.
Clear instructions and great feedback provided a solid basis of support and guidance from trainees, my supervisors and other staff who set work for me.
Most days I was very busy, either multi-tasking or going between work at my desk and interesting talks from different departments.
I was given a lot of responsibility by being allowed to complete taks unaided and then have my work reviewed before sending it to a client or on to counsel.
As a law student, the first-hand experience of commercial law will help with my studies next year when I study commercial law. The need for attention to detail and being able to filter out information are key as a lawyer and will help me approach my legal studies more carefully and efficiently.
The Company
Friendly, welcoming and caring.
A timetable was given to us on our first day with all after work events and talks during the day listed.
Informative talks on both the training contract itself and on the different departments of the firm show a great deal of investment from the firm into our experience at the firm.

A job at this firm would be a fantastic place to start a career, and then hopefully continue a career upon qualification!
The Culture
We spent lots of time with trainees both at lunchtimes in the office, as well as social events after work.
London is not cheap!
A good range of bars and restaurants.
When trainees were free they offered to go for post-work drinks.
