    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I very much enjoyed the placement, both the work and the people. I feel it was very valuable in terms of giving me an insight into how a law firm as well as a business functions, and developing key skills.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was very welcoming and always keen to provide me with work and support.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisors were always keen to explain things to me as I went along and get me involved in matters where possible.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I feel like I had the right balance of work, though at times people would be too busy to give me things despite pro-actively asking around the department for work. I felt this varied between departments.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not much responsibility was given- often matters are highly private, as well as the fact that as a vacation student I am not qualified to get too involved.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel like the skills are very valuable in terms of finding out what skills a lawyers needs and how to apply them.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone is very friendly. The level of socialising varied in between departments, but throughout the firm people remained open and relatively welcoming,

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • the work placement had a great balance of social events along with talks given by the firm on different departments to provide the vacation students with an insight into different areas. I did, however, at first feel like no one had been made aware we would be coming as people were unsure what exactly I was doing there. This changed as time went on.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I wasn't given much training, but everything was always explained to me.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • International Travel

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would very much like to work with the organisation and have an interview lined up.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Within the office and organised socials, yes, but that was the extent of it.

  • the costs in the area are reasonable-high.
