  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed the work, the days flew by. I was kept busy doing something I enjoyed.

  • I was never treated as a student, I was always treated as a full member of their team and I got on with everyone really well.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was fully supported if I came into difficulty when carrying out work. My manager never pushed me to do all the work scheduled when a previous wrist injury was causing me pain

  • I was scheduled work and if problems arose, work was simply rescheduled without a problem to allow time to sort out problems

  • I felt I was fully responsible for all the work I undertook and I felt very independent when carrying out the work

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learned much about analytical chemistry and how major pharmaceutical companies operate which will help when I am looking for a job in the future. It has also boosted my confidence when interacting with team members, managers and other colleagues throughout the site.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Even though we always work hard and ensure our work was done, we always had time for a bit of a laugh. Everyone was always in a happy mood.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From start to finish, I never ran into any problems. On day one I was set up with my own computer logon and email and training started as soon as possible.

  • The company ensured I was always fully trained and comfortable with the tests I was performing

  • The benefits with working with this organisations are endless. They offer good pay, working hours and a bit more job security as they are such a major company

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, we met for lunch several times and had a few nights out/in.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Rent and petrol were very cheap where I was living compared to my hometown.

  • Messy
