The Role
I really enjoyed the work, the days flew by. I was kept busy doing something I enjoyed.
I was never treated as a student, I was always treated as a full member of their team and I got on with everyone really well.
I was fully supported if I came into difficulty when carrying out work. My manager never pushed me to do all the work scheduled when a previous wrist injury was causing me pain
I was scheduled work and if problems arose, work was simply rescheduled without a problem to allow time to sort out problems
I felt I was fully responsible for all the work I undertook and I felt very independent when carrying out the work
I have learned much about analytical chemistry and how major pharmaceutical companies operate which will help when I am looking for a job in the future. It has also boosted my confidence when interacting with team members, managers and other colleagues throughout the site.
The Company
Even though we always work hard and ensure our work was done, we always had time for a bit of a laugh. Everyone was always in a happy mood.
From start to finish, I never ran into any problems. On day one I was set up with my own computer logon and email and training started as soon as possible.
The company ensured I was always fully trained and comfortable with the tests I was performing
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
The benefits with working with this organisations are endless. They offer good pay, working hours and a bit more job security as they are such a major company
The Culture
Yes, we met for lunch several times and had a few nights out/in.
Rent and petrol were very cheap where I was living compared to my hometown.
Messy
There wasn't loads, most things were always for children
