    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great job working in IT for a social media team.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It's easy to take on responsibilities and become a valued member of the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Even if your immediate manager isn't what you need for guidance/support etc, it's easy to speak with people from across the bussiness and the world to get what you need.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This totally relied on how much work I chose to take on, and it's easy to find other work to stay busy.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Various responsibility including maintaining our team's intranet website, facilitating team meetings, meeting with external vendors amongst others.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • If you request training, you will most likely receive it.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A corporate office in the headquarters of a global pharmaceutical company isn't going to be as fun as Google. There are about fifty IT students based in the building so it's not dull.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Quite well organised. The only issues came from the contrator who were running IP student recruitment for the first time here when I started, and there were several issues. The inclusion of Eskills alongside the company's own performance & development reports was useful for keeping track of progress. The HR team were always available to help with any issues or queries.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I didn't ask for any formal training such as ITIL, but it is available.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    International Travel

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • A great company to work for if you're looking for a corporate environment to work in. There are many people who break the mould and make the work fun.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good, probably would have been better if we weren't all spread out across London.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expensive, it's London!

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • No nightlife nearby, you'll need to travel further into London, but that's easy and I did it every week.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of drinks with the team, dinners etc.

    3/5
