The Role
The placement has been challenging but really worth doing. It's been a great platform and I've made some good friends.
My colleagues have really trusted me with responsibility and have felt like an extended family at times.
Management provide you with the tools to do your job but often a little more guidance would be valuable.
It started off a little slow for me but towards the end of the year I felt I had the right balance.
I was given plenty of responsibility for important projects and I felt my opinion was listened to.
I had many chances to present and feel those skills will be with me for life!
The Company
Generally every other employee was slightly older than myself but it was still very social and fun.
We had an assessment centre, an open day and a handover. We also were able to review our progress with our managers 3 times a year.
I was involved in numerous training courses over the year that were really helpful.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The company is growing in the future and there may be a chance to return!
The Culture
Some of the students lived in the same town but many others lived further away which made socialising slightly harder.
The nearest place to visit had plenty of student deals.
The nearest place would be Chester or Liverpool.
There were a few charity events over the year.
