The Role
Really loved the placement!
Very much so. All the people I worked for gave me some feedback, and would show me the final document if my work was to create a first draft. I was sat in two departments, and in each the partners made an effort to remember my name, what uni I was at etc.
Really good. Some of my supervisors were very busy at times, but other lawyers in the department were always willing to give me work or offer support.
Usually just about right. There was the odd few hours where I didn't have a huge amount to do, but that was fairly unusual.
I was involved in a number of different tasks, and carried out a lot of trainee-tasks. It wasn't daunting as all my work was fully explained to me before I started: so a good mix of responsibility, and not feeling out of my depth.
I developed a lot of skills in research and drafting documents.
The Company
Very friendly, but obviously the staff were working hard as this is a big City firm. The staff all seemed to get on really well which gave a good atmosphere.
Very well organised. We were given plenty of information before and during the placement. Grad recruitment here are super friendly too, so there was never any fear of asking questions.
I really felt I learnt a lot while I was here. There were lots of talks to help us learn more about the firm.
Subsidised Canteen
International Travel
Financial Bonus
We are given the opportunity to take a written assessment and have a partner interview during the placement.
The Culture
Everyday a group of vac scheme students would have lunch together, and often the trainees would come and join.
The firm is based in the City, so it's pretty expensive around.
Lots of bars and restaurants all around.
There were quite a few socials organised by the graduate recruitment scheme. Also, we were given invites to other firm-wide events,
