The Role
GSK has been a great company to work for. The staff are very friendly and helpful and ensure that our stay here is worthwhile. With all the different activities that we are allowed to be involved in , has surely made this placement enjoyable.
All staff are very friendly and very easy to approach to when in need of any help. All colleagues treat each other with respect which shows a lot about the company.
My manager and I had weekly meetings to give me support and guidance and to also give a review on where we are with things. These weekly meetings have been very helpful.
There is always something to do. If however, we feel there is nothing, it is very easy to find something whether it is a small thing or a big thing.
With the projects I was given , it was my own responsibility to get these done as well as to contact and liaise with the right people.
I believe that the skills and training that I have received in this workplace are very valuable to both my personal and professional development. everything that has been learn will be very useful to me once I go back to complete my degree.
The Company
This site had hot desking, in which you are allowed to sit anywhere. With this you are able to move around and sit with people you would like be with or network with. This is very relaxing as we do not have to be bound to just one seat/area.
the placement had a lot to offer but it was up to each individual of what advantage they would like to take from it.
If there was any good opportunity that was available where the firm would need to invest in us, there was no trouble at all. The company is very helpful in helping students develop and would allow them to go to courses/workshops which will help their professional development.

the graduate scheme is a great way of securing a job with them as it offers great opportunities, however, it may need to be looked over into how they short list people.
The Culture
all students got on very well.
canteen is slightly expensive and so was travel, but at the end of the day it has been worth it.
only one club around in the area but if you are with the right people you have an awesome time wherever you go.
orange days(charity work) was a good way of getting involved with the community outside of work.
