The Role
I enjoyed the year greatly, but was looking forward to returning to uni at the end (not a bad thing).
IP students are treated the same as permanent staff, so this was not an issue.
My supervisor and other staff were generally very helpful. If any advice was required there was always someone to ask.
Was very occasionally too busy, or had little to do. Good time management skills will be important.
The degree of responsibility was not the same as that of permanent staff with more experience (obviously), but input was welcomed and I was free do my own research and carry out the reactions I thought would allow the target compounds to be produced.
Skills developed (both practical chemistry and analytical) will be very useful. Experience in lab environment also is likely to
