The Role
Everyone that works here is very lovely and helpful which makes the job a lot easier and the days fly by.
Everyone seemed genuinely interested in my views and respected my opinions. They also included me in social activities outside of work which was very fun.
The managers are always available to ask questions too, as well as the rest of the collegues. There is also a lot of support for technical material on the intranet and the buddy systemm works really well.
Varied from day to day, never had nothing to do but wasn't always engaged in productive work.
I was given my own mini 'project' to run which was important to a larger project which my manager was running.
The experience has been very useful, the skill of sending emails and communication have been strongly developed, as well as confidence. There are other more specific skills such as project management knowledge and an understanding of enginges that may not be so transferable.
The Company
The offices are huge and contain a large variety of people who all interact with each other and include you in the conversation. The lay out encourages this.
I had no problems with organisation at all, everything ran perfectly smoothly.
There is a lot of emphasis on setting and achieving realistic objectives and I did go on a course about how engines work.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
The company is very good in terms of benefits, and they clearly look after their staff as some people have been here for nearly 40 years. No one has any majoy complaints about it.
The Culture
Rolls-Royce organised a facebook page so we could all interact before we met. They also organised an initial social and have a unoin for organising further events. The facebook page was also used to organise our own events.
The uni halls were very reasonable, derby uni are a little last minute though.
Not as good as Bristol, but when you're out with fun people it doesn't really matter!
there are sports clubs etc but they're mostly expensive to join
