The Role
I loved everything about my placement; the job itself, my team and the location.
I was given real responsibility rather than just an administrative support role and felt like a valued member of the team.
I worked directly with my supervisors who were always there if I needed support. I found everyone in my team easily approachable, including my manager.
I always had something to do and was never bored.
I was happy to take on more and more responsibility as my placement progressed. Towards the end of my placement, I was doing the same job as other more experienced members of my team on permanent contracts.
I received several training sessions throughout my work placement and gained a lot of valuable experience and skills which I am sure will prove useful in the future.
The Company
I worked in an international team which created a great atmosphere in the office.
I only found out that I had been successful 1 month beofre my placement started, which was short notice taking into account that I had to move abroad. I also didn't sign anything until arriving in France and it was a few weeks after starting before I had my own desk and email access. Despite this the job itself was well organised and I always had something to do.
I was travelled several times during my placement to attend training sessions and meetings. I am also involved in a programme which will allow me to stay in touch with my manager during my final year of studies.

Company Parties/Events
I will stay in touch with my manager and am keen to return to the team after I graduate.
The Culture
We often socialised with colleagues outside of work and a number of my fellow interns have been terrific friends during my time abroad (one in particular, she knows who she is!).
I found the cost of living and socialising in France to be slightly more expensive than in England.
Toulouse is a student city and has an excellent nightlife. I would stick to the bars however as the clubs here can be expensive and exclusive.
Activities outside of work were always being organised, from eating out together to skiing weekends in the Pyrenees.
