The Role
I feel incredibly lucky to have spent my gap year working at the Bank. I've enjoyed every single day and met some friends for life.
I've always been thanked for all my work/technical advice and everyone appreciates when I complete a job for them.
My manager over the past 6 months of my placement has been fantastic. She would always help me if I had a problem and I never hesitated to ask her. At the same time she gave me the independence and freedom that I needed to enjoy my work.
My workload completely varied during the year. Everyone at the Bank tends to be very busy and theres always extra work if your own job is going a bit slow. Some days have been 12 hours and some days I've been able to go home early.
As a gap year, obviously I cannot be given huge amounts of responsibility. However, I've never felt like I wasn't trusted with important tasks.
I've learned how to get along with, and work with different people from all different ages. The skills, both personal and practical, that I'm taking with me from the Bank will help me for life.
The Company
I haven't experienced a day without laughing at something hilarious thats happened in the office.
