The Role
It was good. Everything was very organised both work wise and planned socials. Everyone I met was friendly and approachable (its not just a value!)
Everyone was nice and when I had done work for them they told me when it was useful/good. Some research I did was circulated to other members of staff so I felt like people appreciated my work. When I helped a trainee meet a deadline I was told how useful my help had been.
My supervisor was supportive and friendly. We had a chat about my objectives at the start of the 2 weeks.
I usually had something to do although there were times where I didn't have anything to do and it was too late in the day (i.e 5pm) to send out a capacity email, but obviously I couldn't leave either. It was ok because I used the time to prepare for assessments and look around on the intranet site.
Obviously everything I did was checked and whilst I didn't really feel I was given responsibility this is understandable on a 2 week placement! More importantly I saw how much responsibility the trainee I was with was given, that is what is important in the future.
I have graduated a law degree now but I think some of the skills I picked up could be useful in my LPC.
The Company
It was good. People came over and talked to me and there banter!
Very good. Plus we were given a timetable before we even started so I could plan things, such as trains as I had to commute and knew what evenings I would get back late.
People I did work for sat down to explain it to me and give me feedback.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
They recruit heavily from the vac scheme I believe so I hope so!
The Culture
Yeah we got on really well, having done more than one placement I know this is not always the case.
Leeds is pretty cheap, I know from being a student here. Everything organised was paid for by the firm anyway though, they gave us a good social budget!
As a big city in the North Leeds has a good nightlife, I would be happy to live here.
Planned socials on more than one night each week. Opportunity to get involved in sports too.
