The Role
I really enjoyed my time at the firm. My trainee buddy was really helpful and built up a great rapport with me. I felt valued by everyone in the department and was given a high level of responsibility, much more than I expected in fact. The firm also organised socials which allowed us to socialise away from the office which provided lots of fun.
I felt very valued. I was constantly given real work to do, I felt I was working in conjunction with my trainee buddy, not as her subordinate.
My trainee buddy frequently gave contructive feedback on tasks so I received support on this. She also explained tasks very well and gave me guidance on any parts I was unsure on. All members of the firm were happy to answer any questions i had.
I had a regular stream of work so I always had something to do, however I was never swamped either therefore I had a good balance.
I believe I was given a high level of responsibility that far exceeded what I expected. I was carrying out "real" work that my trainee buddy was also working on and was not micro-managed. I was given the opportunity to carry on with tasks knowing that I had the resonpsibility that it would not be re-done.
I have really been able to seek what life for a trainee is like so have definitely developed the necessary skills required such a research, drafting, attention to detail, commercial awareness.
The Company

They are recruiting, so it is just a matter of impressing them enough to get a role.
The Culture
Yes. We all attended the socials that the firm organised, and all got on very well
Birmingham Is okay, I live at home so that is not applicable, in terms of socialising it really just depends where you go. There are a range of places and price ranges.
Birmingham has a very good nightlife.
Yes the firm organised socials, and there was a sports event
