The Role
Everything was fantastic. The placement ran smoothly, and I was constantly busy with interesting work to do. The socials the firm put on were enjoyable, and everyone at the firm was friendly and helpful.
I felt as though I was treated as a trainee in their first seat rather than someone who was only at the firm for a few week. The work I was given was the same work which the trainees do, and I got a real experience of what life would be like as a trainee at the firm.
My supervior and trainee buddy were always willing to help or explain any problemsl, and always ensured that I knew what I was doing and that I was busy.
I always had something to do, but never felt like I had too much to complete in the time allowed.
The solicitors gave me a lot of responsibility, and allowed me to complete important pieces of work which were then checked over the someone more senior.
The skills I have developed will help me when I find a training contract, and have given me a better understanding of the commercial side of the law.
The Company
Very friendly, and very enjoyable. Everyone was helpful and always talkative.
The placement ran perfectly. There was never any problems, and we were always kept up to date by Graduate Recruitment.
The firm put on a number of presentations including one from each department, and one by the Corporate Responsibility team.
Subsidised Canteen
Optimistic at the moment, but we haven't yet heard back from them.
The Culture
We did something at the end of most days, and all of the other people on the scheme were great.
I was living at home and therefore it didn't cost a huge amount.
Manchester nightlife.
We weren't there long enough to get fully involved in many things, but we did have the chance to go to the office drinks at the end of each week.
