The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, I would highly recommend doing a placement here.
Everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. They treated me like one of the team and I was given real work to do.
My trainee buddy was excellent. I could ask her absolutely anything about the work or the firm. On the last day, we went out for coffee and she gave me a real honest insight into trainee life at the firm, as well as her route to gettting here.
I had work to everyday, which was great as I can't imagine anything worse than sitting at your desk all day with nothing to do!
I was responsible for all of the tasks that I was given. The context to each task was explained to me, after which, it was my job to comeplete.
I developed my attention to detail and reasearch skills, which will be invaluable during the last year of my degree.
The Company
Everyone is extremely friendly, even the senior members of the firm. The people in my team were great.
We had a timetable for the two weeks, and everything ran according to plan
Lawyers out of each practice group gave up time each morning to give us a presentation on their practice. This was undoubtedly the most valuable part of the whole experience - it really opens your eyes to exactly what each team does.
Subsidised Canteen
Not sure what the outcome of the assessment process will be, fingers crossed!
The Culture
The trainees put on some really fun social events including office drinks, mini golf, a night at a comedy club... and more office drinks!
All our socials were paid for which was great!
I live in the same city, so I think it's great!
There was an opportunity to get involved with some of the corporate responsibility activities and we were able to get involved in sports whilst we were there.
