The Role
Overall it has been a good experience, which I don't regret doing it.
I think I had a good relationship with every employee.
My Manager as well as the Managing Director were very helpful at all times and I got a great deal of support from them. Just the same all the other BDMs were very understanding and helpful.
Most of the day we had something to do and managing our time and sharing the responsibilities and tasks with my colleague was an important part of the job - and certainly a useful skill.
With every big issue my manager was always there to help and guide, more so in the beginning of the placement, but after a few months I would say that me and my colleague we were experienced enough to deal with a lot of issues ourselves alone.
Very useful for learning a certain part of Illustrator and Photoshop but I would add to that the process of getting acquainted whit a professional environment and learning how to act accordingly - as skill useful after uni just as well.
The Company
A relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
Our manager was paying a lot of attention to all our needs as placement students and was taking care of all aspects from accommodation to office problems.
For my job role, the training has been an ongoing process. But I did get an introductory training session when I started, presenting all the major points that I should be aware of.
Company Parties/Events
For my job role there isn't a permanent spot.
The Culture
I got along with almost all of the students and had a great time with them.
Considering the wage, I would say it was on the limit. Just enough for a weekly socializing sesh.
It was OK.
London is quite close, and Reading but other than that Maidenhead alone I would say is pretty small with not so many opportunities.
