The Role
I really enjoyed my experience at Pinsent Masons. I got to meet many different people who were all willing to answer any questions. Each day was different and so I got to learn about many new things about the firm and the work that it does.
Everyone was always thankful for any work that I did and so I felt that my contributions were recognised.
Everyone was very friendly and always willing to help and answer any questions. I was regularly asked throughout the scheme about how I was getting on with everything and I was always told who to contact if I had any queries or experienced any problems.
Sometimes there were quieter days where I was given less to do but this allowed more time to go and search for various other types of work and to talk to other members of the firm.
I was given various tasks to do throughout the placement and many of the outcomes produced were documents that were actually used by the lawyers.
The experience has improved my communication skills significantly. I know how to better communicate with various members of departments from partners to trainees, and also how to present information both in written and spoken form when practising as a lawyer.
The Company
Everyone was always positive even during more stressful periods and always willing to have a quick chat even if they were busy. I was always made to feel welcome.
The placement was very structured especially with the variety of presentations and events carefully planned in between timetabled sessions in departments.
My trainee buddy invested a lot of time and effort into helping me everyday with any tasks and to answer any questions. My supervisor was always willing to put aside some time if ever I wanted to discuss anything.

Company Parties/Events
I really enjoyed my time at Pinsent Masons and it is a great place to train as a lawyer and also have a long term career.
The Culture
We all got on really well and we organised several socials after work.
There its lots of choice in terms of living costs and socialising to cater for all needs and budgets.
The nightlife in Leeds is great and Pinsent Masons is in an ideal central location.
We were invited to all office and social events including those arranged outside work. We were made to feel included in all aspects of the firm.
