The Role
Although at times some of the work became a little boring and repetitive this placement gave me so much more knowledge and experience, and improved such a wide range of my skills. It also means that I have a much better chance of getting a job, both back at Cisco and elsewhere. I don't think I could have asked for a better placement!
Especially towards the end of the placement you could tell that the engineers really relied on us and there was a lot of information that they didn't know and had to come to us for as the interns manage the lab.
Anybody in the team will be happy to answer any questions at pretty much any time, or point you in the right direction if they are unable to answer themselves.
This varies by the project cycle, it can go from absolutely rammed to not that busy in a week or two. Also when I say 'not that busy' - there is always stuff to do, you are just not going insane from all the pressure :)
As much responsibility as you can handle! (It's a good thing) Some of the engineers even invited me onto project calls and meetings with the customer.
I still have 3 weeks of placement left so can't answer this fully but the skills are going to be invaluable. I certainly learnt more in these 13 months than I did in the first two years of University, and got my CCNP to boot!
The Company
Always a good bit of banter, and plenty of cakes :)
Very well planned out, as we can see from helping to train up the new interns :)
Paid for books and exams for CCNA and CCNP.

Subsidised Canteen

Above 25 days holiday

I am really looking forward to coming back to Cisco after my degree, I haven't yet decided if I am going to apply to come back here or apply to one of their graduate programmes.
The Culture
Plenty of meals and drinks, plus a badminton club on a Monday.
Looking at around £800 for a decent two bedroom flat in the middle of Reading.
