The Role
Challenging at the start as so many new things to learn, however as the months progressed I felt more settled and enjoyed the daily tasks/process of learning new skills.
My input was valued/appreciated during various meetings, and I really did feel like I was included in everything .
Always available for help/able to answer any questions/advise me on who could help if they couldn't.
There was always something to do, however I never felt overwhelmed.
Made compounds to the same degree as full time staff; was also able to provide suggestions/input during meetings.
Brilliant opportunity to work for a large company/as an industrial chemist. I am grateful for the chance to hone my practical skills and for opportunities to learn other skills such as report writing and presentation skills.
The Company
Relaxed atmoshpere in general, yet still hard working
Very well set up within the company, however the partner responsible for the management of wages/admin was not competent at all (Srg/Carlisle Staffing).
Opportunity to attend seminars/various training courses was always there
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Graduate recruitment in the area I wish to work in within the company is scare in the current climate, however I would love the chance to work with the organisation. Post PhD may present an opportunity to apply for jobs.
The Culture
Just like being at university!
Proximity to London increased the cost of living!
A few (poor) nightclubs however lots of pubs, plus London never far away.
