The Role
Amazing people to work with, went straight into important work (after some training of course!) and overall was very enjoyable
Several events took place which I was invited by the company to go to, and never left out of anything
All questions and help given to me - no complaints at all!
Some days when a deadline was due the workload increased but was never to the point of being too busy. Likewise when the amount of work was decreased it gave a perfect opportunity to work on other side projects
All work was set by other clients or within the company and all of it is used, some of which more important and required more responsibility but it was never extremely high given that I was only a placement student understandably!
This has given me a vast boost in knowledge in another programming language which I was not too familiar with, as well as the processes in creating a game - all of which will certainly be useful in my final year project and beyond!
The Company
Never dull and a great balance between working and fun - Emails sent around with a specific games and fun inbox as well as a pool table and gaming consoles so the atmosphere was never dull
Always had work to do whether it was working on an actual game or whether it was an in-house project, with help given along the way. Very well set-up and everything went to plan and to the schedule set up for me by my line manager.
Specific gaming and programming events occurred along my placement which I was invited to go to, along with everything required being given to me
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare/Dental
Would definitely not turn down an offer if it was given!
The Culture
Everyone mixed in at lunch and at events - a perfect social scene
London prices so can be quite expensive
Plenty of pubs just across the river in central London, easy to get to and just a quick walk
Poker nights, general drinks after work on a Friday, plenty of activities to get involved with
