The Role
I enjoyed my placement much more than I thought I would. Deloitte as a firm were extremely welcoming.
The majority of people were very welcoming, some did not know I was an intern so did not introduce themselves to me but on the whole everyone was friendly.
My buddy and champion were excellent at giving me support and answering any questions I had.
There were quite a few times when I had nothing to do.
I was not given much responsibility as I could not use a lot of the software and did not have an understanding of the work they did but they did they best they could.
I learnt a lot about excel and how to communicate proffessionally with others.
The Company
Quite lively, especially on client sites
The Graduate recruitment part was very well organised but once we got into the actual departments a lot of people did not know what to do with us.
They invested quite a lot in enticing us to work for Deloitte. We were given brief training on the software used but this could have been more detailed.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Prospects are very appealing - good wage, ACA, sociable
The Culture
Extremely good social side of the placement among other interns and people in the departments
Pretty expensive but we were getting paid so I could afford it.
I did not go out in the area that I worked.
Limitied opportunities - 1 football tournament
