The Role
Enjoyable work in a friendly environment
My department (Retail Planning) were very friendly and welcoming. We went out for a meal on the penultimate day of the placement.
People were always ready to answer questions and my team explained the background to the work I was set really clearly.
Whenever I finished a task I just told someone and they gave me something new to do.
I could have been given more responsibility, but I was happy with the level I was given as I never felt under too much pressure.
A good experience of an office job in London. I gained new IT skills, got a good insight into Savills' operations and learnt quite a lot about the planning system.
The Company
A good atmosphere where people knew each other well and got along well.
We were well looked after throughout
There was not much in the way of training as such, but just through working in the department I picked up skills and know-how.
I was very impressed by the feel of the working environment and the enthusiasm of the employees. Left feeling that it would be a good place to work.
The Culture
Summer students met for lunch and got on well
Expensive area, but as I chose to commute from Crawley it was much cheaper than living near the office. The nice area makes up for the prices!
I didn't get involved in much nightlife, but it's reputation is good I believe.
There was not loads in this respect, but we were able to go to the Savills Cricket match and also had a pub quiz with graduates. Also, talks from different departments broke up the time nicely, as did a lunch with fee-earners
