The Role
Wide variety of interesting projects and work, requiring a range of skill sets and aptitudes
All interactions are carried out on a professional level thorughout the business and colleagues give you all the support and tools required to complete the job successfully
Support and assistance is always available if required and management value you as an important member of the organisation
Ranges depending on time of year and projects being run. Quieter times are spent doing administrative or ad hoc tasks. Projects can expect you to work some unsocial / long hours if required
If you prove yourself to be capable, then management has no problem in giving you the repsonsibility of carrying out your own projects. You get out what you put in
Wide range of skills can be improved and the professional development during the year will help me greatly in the future
The Company
Always professional but light, humourous moments were frequent
Without having been in the industry before, there is a limit to the expensive training usually reserved for industry professionals. I showed an interest in various programs and colleagues were happy to talk through the nuances of them
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Excellent company to work for where every individual is valued and capable graduates are fast tracked through the organization
The Culture
You are a loan placement student. Many colleagues commute and / or go home to families. You need to make your own social scene
Basingstoke is in the London commuter belt, and prices in the South East do tend to be some of the highest in England
Depends on your tastes really, coming from university onto placement it was noticeably quieter
Company runs some social outings and has a social club offering discounted tickets to many attractions / shows / festivals etc
