The Role
I couldn't have asked for a better placement year and it has been my best job to date.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful and help was always just a phone call away.
Support was always there and I never felt I couldn't ask for help. I had regular updates with Managers and 2 performance reviews.
Days are very busy but with the nature of the business there is a something new every week so I never became bored and days went very quick.
I was given a huge amount. Over Christmas I ordered stock and controlled the safe, handling large sums of money. I also led a huge project in my region costing millions of pounds.
Things I have learnt I will never forget. I feel like I have grown up mentally so much over just one year. I look forward to take my knowledge back to Uni and develop my skills even more. Upon leaving I hope I find my key skills and how to use them to best effect.
The Company
Everyone knew how to keep the right balance. We had a laugh and a joke to keep the day fun but at the same time knew when to knuckle down and hit deadlines.
I didn't keep to my placement programme but this wasn't a bad thing at all because in my year, opportunities opened up that I couldn't turn down.
From day one I was given a strict training plan. I was regularly examined with questions and tests. Once I learned skills I was then advised on them and able to improve them through relevant tasks.

Company Parties/Events
Providing I gain my 2:1 there is a job opportunity that I am going to take with both hands.
The Culture
I was the only placement student in the company.
I lived at home for the majority of the year.
My placement was based on the Wirral so Liverpool was where I spent my weekends.
All members of the team work very hard so it was hard to organise activities. But I went paint balling and played in a football match also there was an Aldi Olympics which I was unable to attend.
