The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, I was given a lot of responsibility and I liked that. It made me realise what I enjoyed doing and what I did not.
I felt more as part of a team rather than a placement student. I was given some mundane jobs but also projects on my own.
I was given a lot of support and guidance at the beginning but by the end you make your own decisions.
I was busy everyday working on day to day jobs as well as on going projects.
I was given a large amount of responsibility as my team changed a lot throughout the year.
I felt that the skills I gained on placement were extremely valuable. But I believe working is completely different to Uni.
The Company
Everyone was very close to one another and all students were close together which made a nice atmosphere.
I think it was well organised and I feel I gained a lot from the placement year. I would definately recommend doing one.
I feel more formal training could have been given as there was a lot of informal training on the job.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Bosch do not have any graduate positions but a lot of the managers did a placement with them.
The Culture
I was very lucky as all the students got on really well and we enjoyed socialising together. Were able to go into London, Watford or Uxbridge.
I lived at home but I think the cost of living was not too expensive as it was a university place.
Nightlife close by was not great but had many good nights out, as its not the place but the people you go with! But was close to cental london and watford!
Not really Bosch events more student nights arrange by yourself.
