The Role
I had a brilliant two weeks with the firm, met some great people who were all very supporitve. A genuinely friendly and down-to-earth atmosphere.
Felt that I could approach any member of staff and that they would be wliling to help and answer any questions you may have.
I had a lot more contact with my supervisors than expected and they were really clear when setting tasks. They were also very approachable if I had any queries and would take the time to go through things with you.
I had a balanced workload which kept me busy throughout the day but not overloaded.
I was given independent tasks to do which were then of direct benefit to the fee earner who had set them which felt as though I was actually amking a contribution to the group.
All the skills I have developed from reading cases, research done, drafting and writing notes will be invaluable in any job and degree.
The Company
Everyone is very friendly and prepared to spend time talking to you and making you feel welcome.
The timetable was quite busy but it meant there was always lots to do. Overall the organisation was good, there were quite a few changes but these were always communicated clearly and didn't cause any inconvenience.
The company seemed committed to ensuring that I made the most out of the time spent at the firm. It was very apparent that it is a two way relationship in terms of ensuring that the students are making the most it but also that the staff can see how we would fit into the firm.
