The Role
I have had an excellent time during my 2 week vacation scheme at Taylor Wessing. The staff have all been genuinely friendly and the trainees are happy.
I felt that the work I did for my colleagues was valued and save them time. Moreover, they made this clear to me on several occasions and I felt very comfortable in both departments.
In both departments my supervisors were very helpful, whenever I had a query I did not hesitate to ask them. Very much an open door policy.
I was busy almost the whole time which was great as it prevented me from getting bored or feeling like a spare part. The work I was given made me feel like part of the team.
I was given a good level of responsibility during my placement, such as drafting emails for important clients and doing research for my supervisor for litigation.
In my second week I was in Restructuring and Corporate Recovery, the research exercises I have completed have given me a good foundational understanding of some of the key areas in Corporate Insolvency which will be helpful when I take the module next year.
The Company
The atmosphere was unlike any other firm I have worked at, there was no clear hierarchy everyone treated each other as equals. Additionally, everyone I encountered was approachable and happy to answer questions.
Generally, the placement was very well organised with socials and focus in sessions on each department at good times. The appraisal system works well at the end of each week.
I have learnt some valuable skills during the vacation scheme and the trainees seem to be very competent.

Hard to answer as have not had the decision yet, but it seems they have a good intake from vacation schemes generally
The Culture
Everyone get on very well, really nice atmosphere.
I am from London so no change for me.
Again I am from London, good social scene.
There were a handful of socials which were fun and also a good opportunity to do some pro bono work which was enjoyable.
