The Role
I had a really good time at Taylor Wessing, everyone was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. Although we were given two departments to sit in, we were exposed to all the other departments through "Focus On" talks so we got a flavour of each practise group.
Everyone was very friendly and always very appreciative of the work I did for them. They were always willing to answer any questions and were very polite and always thanked me for the work I did.
Doors were always open at Taylor Wessing and everyone was always happy to answer questions or give you a bit more help and support.
I was given a good amount of work on this placement. It was enough to keep me busy, but I also had enough time to work on my group presentation and had time to talk to members of the department about life as a solicitor.
I felt I was given the right amount of responsibility for someone who has just finished the second year of a law degree. I was able to draft letters and emails to clients and researched points of law.
I feel the skills I learnt will be very helpful in my future career, as I learnt new research skills such as how to use the PLC.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and polite and always willing to help.
Very well organised. We had social trips planned, lunches with buddies and partners and had "Fouc On" sessions on the other practice groups.
They were keen to help us develop our skills and always showed us how to research on unfamiliar databases.
Subsidised Canteen
Very appealing as everyone was very friendly and the work was interesting.
The Culture
We had a number of good social events - some were just for vacation scheme students and trainees, while some were open to the whole firm. So we were able to talk to everyone.
London is generally fairly expensive, but I was lucky to stay for free with friends.
As expected for London.
Lots of opportunities - we could go to the social events and volunteer at Taylor Wessing's Pro Bono legal clinic.
