The Role
Thouroughly enojyed the internship. Felt that I was actually treated like a proper rather than an intern. The tasks allocated to me beared significant responsibility.
I felt that everyone within my department made an effort to get to know me. Very sociable group of people and therfore as a consequence I felt quite valued.
Support was provided to me throughout all of the internship. Guidance was offered whenever I was stuck with something and workload permitting, everyone was happy to take some time out of their day to help explan something.
How busy I was depended on each individual project I was doing. There were some days where I had to stay fairly late but then there were some where I was allowed to finish early. Overall it all balances out!
I was given quite a fair bit of responsibility considering I was just an intern. I was given deadlines that I had to adhere to as well as reports I had to read up on.
I learnt a lot of skills that could be applied to any related career. i.e. not EY specific. Examples would include excel and VBA skills.
The Company
My department could not define the "work hard play hard" quote more. Everyone is up for a laugh as long as they get their work done.
I genuinely could not fault it. Despite the olympics getting in the way a bit, everything seems to have gone smoothly!
I was constantly provided with feedback and developmental points of improvement after every task that i did. This was helpful as it helped me to improve for the next tasks.
Subsidised Canteen
I havnt found out yet if I have the job but it seems positive.
The Culture
Constantly going to socials at all sorts of fancy places. Its almost always paid for too!!
My internship fell during the Olympics so as a consequence the cost of living was quite high.
Its Central London, too much choice!
EY held an extra organisations fair where there were several different clubs/societies that weere available for us to join.
