    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was given important work to do which made my internship really interesting. The Summer Internship team also organised some really good events which were fun as there were 130 of us in total.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We were looked after well by the graduates who acted as our 'buddy'.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We has a supportive counsellor who we had regular meetings with. The partners would also take the time to explain what they and the team do. The summer internship team also supported us to make sure we got the most out of the internship.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had some good pieces of work to do. There were times when I was slightly quiet, but on the whole I was kept occupied and busy.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had a good amount of responsibility. My work involved things that would be sent to clients after being reviewed, and rarely involved photocopying, data entry etc.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed people and networking skills that I can use at university to mix with fellow peers. Furthemore, my organisation and efficiency has improved which I will bring into my final year at university and will help me achieve a good result.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A relaxed atmosphere, yet everyone at the firm has a strong work ethic. There is definitely a 'work hard, play hard' attitude.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Right from the application process to the taking part in the internship, I was kept up to date by regular communications from the summer internship team. The induction and events that followed were well organised. Furthermore, during my internship I was on a rotatation between the different departments so I was able to get the most out of my time here.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My colleagues took the time to explain to me the technical aspects of VAT which I will no doubt use when I join the firm as a graduate.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very good chance of a graduate job offer providing you perform well.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a social committee within the internship group of 130, which meant there was a lot going on and plenty chances to socialise with fellow interns.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Normal London prices, but reasonable considering the area - London Bridge.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Plenty of pubs and bars nearby and clubs just a short tube journey away.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are many sports teams within the firm. There are also more informal groups that meet to play sport afterwork - for example I am involved with 5-a-side football.
