The Role
I had a very enjoyable experience while on placement with CGT. I would be extremely interested to go back as a full time employee.
I was given key tasks that were critical to the business. I felt that I was treated as a full-time employee and not just a 'placement'.
I was given good support by my managers and supervisors.
Some days I could be extremely busy, other days not so busy at all.
I was given massive responsibility during my placement. I had the opportunity to lead key projects.
I think the skills I have gained on placement, will help me in my final year of university, aswell as helping me to develop into a professional engineer.
The Company
The office could be fun at times, but also serious at times. It was a good balance.
It was well organised, but could be improved in some ways.
A lot was invested in me by the company, I got to attend numerous training events for personal development and for computer software.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
There is a strong chance I will be able to get a job once i Graduate.
The Culture
All of the placements took part in various exercizes throught the year, helping us all to become good friends.
The cost of living in Stamford is relatively high. Renting is pretty expensive, aswell as food shopping.
There is only one night club, which is awful, however there are a few decent pubs in the area.
Stamford is a small town, however there is alot of sporting activites that you can get involved in. Theres also an arts centre that runs a lot of classes, in acting, drawing, music etc.
