The Role
The work was extremely varied and also challenging, making me look forward to doing something different every day.
My colleagues were all very welcoming and interested in getting to know me. They made me feel like part of the team immediately.
Management and supervisors were extremely helpful when giving instructions and were always available to clarify and explain tasks without making me feel stupid.
Some days I had more work to complete than others, but on the whole I was kept very busy on a day to day basis.
I wasn't given huge responsibility which I was happy about because at a junior level, I wouldn't want high pressure placed on me when I was unfamiliar with company procedures.
The skills and knowledge I have gained are extremely relevant to my course of study and in my interested career path. I have enhanced my team work, technical and organisation skills.
The Company
The office had a friendly, comfortable and upbeat atmosphere. Everyone was clearly motivated to commence their work duties and high motivation was apparent.
The internship was very well organised throughout the whole process, with clear instructions of day to day requirements and help and clarification was always readily available.
The firm invested a lot in the interns and I felt highly valued. I was given tremendous support and training, as well as being included in social events.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Future prospects are very appealing with a clear hierarchical structure to the organisation. I can see a clear career progression path with obvious stages and training.
The Culture
The social scene was excellent and I engaged in many social activities with fellow placement students, both within and outwith the firm.
The cost of living and socialising was average. It was affordable but not overly cheap.
The night life in Glasgow is very vibrant and exciting. There is lots to do and the atmosphere is very lively.
There were various opportunities to socialise with placement students and work colleagues and I felt very invited.
