The Role
It was a really good experience and I learnt a lot. Very glad that I took part and certainly widened my network from it.
Everyone was very helpful and ready to answer any questions I had. The other people on the Insight Academy were really good fun.
We had a clear set of guidelines for each task and there were lots of people around if any other sort of guidance was required.
It was a very packed three days but I'm glad because I really got a lot out of it.
The projects were mostly based around a fictional case study but they were the sort of tasks that you might do in each of the service lines when working at PwC.
I learnt a lot about the options that PwC have and how they could fit in to my future. Also, I worked on my networking skills and my oral presentations skills.
The Company
It got quite sleepy after lunch and just before dinner but everyone was really friendly and we had a good laugh both during and in-between activities.
They knew exactly what we were meant to be doing and when and things tended to run on time so we were never kept hanging around and didn't have to miss anything out due to lack of time.
They invited partners to have dinner with us and invested a lot in to bringing us all together at Latimer. You could tell that they were serious about scouting the best talent as early on as possible.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
We haven't received our options yet but you either get an offer or you can resit some of the assessments or if you are applying for a very competitive role such as consulting then you have to do another interview. They seem willing to give you a second chance if for some reason you do badly on an assessment.
The Culture
We had drinks vouchers in the evenings for the bar and most people hung around and chatted with the other interns and assessors.
We didn't go out of the country house but I suppose average.
We just had the one bar in the building which we spent our day but it got pretty lively.
There was a gym and some nice ground for running in if you're that way inclined.
