The Role
I had a great two weeks at Taylor Wessing. Everyone was genuinely down to earth and friendly and the work I was involved with was really interesting.
Everyone had a lot of time for me as a vacation student and they were all very grateful for the work I completed for them.
I couldn't have asked for better support. Both my supervisors set aside a lot of time to go through things with me (one of them went through and explained a whole loan agreement!) and they were always available to answer any of my questions.
I always had plenty to do and very rarely had to go looking for work. Whilst having plenty to do, I didn't have to stay late to finish anything.
I was given enough responsibility to feel involved but not too much that I was out of my depth.
Invaluable experience that will definitely help in terms of my law degree and future career plans.
The Company
The open door policy really made for a good office atmosphere.
Graduate recruitment were great in terms of making sure everything ran smoothly. We had a comprehensive timetable that was put in our Outlook calendars and, although changes had to be made, it was always clear where we needed to be.
We had a whole morning of induction talks on our first day, to ensure we knew exactly what to expect, and then our supervisors and buddies were on hand throughout the two weeks to help us make the most of our time there. We had appraisals at the end of each week, so that we could see how we were doing and what we needed to work on.

Company Parties/Events
Based on previous years, Taylor Wessing is very keen to try and recruit from the vac scheme. I would absolutely love to work for Taylor Wessing; I just have to wait and see if they want me to work for them!
The Culture
All the vac schemers got on really well; we often went to lunch with each other and had a good time at the socials as well. The various talks that you have on a daily basis really give you the opportunity to get to know everyone.
As someone who doesn't come from London, it was quite expensive, particularly in terms of accommodation. However, it's Central London, so I didn't really expect it to be cheap!
Seems good enough!
We had lots of socials planned for us, so there were plenty of opportunities in that respect. We also had the opportunity to take part in some pro bono.
