  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was challenging but very enjoyable.

  • The office had a very nice atmosphere and everyone was genuinely nice and helpful.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My project manager and other colleagues were always around if I ever needed help and my manager always gave clear directions on my task.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Usually had a good amount of work to be getting on with - sometimes was very busy and sometimes didn't have too much but on the whole it was good.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was usually left to run through the project myself after an overview on the task. They were always around for help but I never felt as if they didn't trust me with the work.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the general skills of working in an office environment will be very useful throughout my career along with the organisation and time management skills. In particular, the training on the use of their software would be extremely useful should my career continue at Towers Watson.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was very friendly and talkative. It was a very nice atmosphere to be a part of.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There were some techinical problems to start off with such as access to network drives but these were mostly resolved.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think the amount of training at Towers Watson was fantastic. I feel like they wanted us to learn about the different software and programs and they obviously invested a lot in their interns.

  • Hopefully get a graduate placement with them!

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Most fridays were spent out for lunch and at the pub in the evening so it was a nice amount of time to get to know the colleagues.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not as expensive as it would be in London but Epsom wasn't the cheapest place.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Didn't tend to experience too much of the nightlife apart from the pub on Fridays!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • They regularly played football and badminton during the week which everyone was free to join.
